Hello from the Harbor!  Fall has hit with a touch of wintery chill making town much slower and quieter since the last installment of the Coconut Times and my little column.  (Yes Brenda I know it is not as little as it’s supposed to be, but hey I’m full of it….)  Anyway as the holiday season descends we prepare for the gobble-gobble of Turkey Day and after that snowflakes and sleigh bells.  Gosh this year flew by. 

So, the best thing about OC in the fall and winter are the specials at all the bars and restaurants that make it cheaper to eat out than in.  I mean there needs to be something to look forward to in the winter right?  Well the Shark on the Harbor is the place for you.  Everyday we are offering several fantastic $5 lunch specials, great food at a great value.  We start the week off with Mako Monday offering our regular Mako Shark entrees and a special chef’s creation for half price from 4 until 10.  On Tuesdays we have $2 Tuesdays with drink and food specials at the bar from 4 until 10.  Wednesdays we offer a three course meal for $30 (like restaurant week with a weekly changing menu).  Thursdays it’s wino night with Half price bottles of wine under $40.  And Sundays we have the NFL ticket on 6 big flat screen TVs with high definition and food and drink specials at the bar, including the Shark’s famous wings.  They’ll leave you chomping at the bit.  And go to our website www.ocshark.com to sign up for our email blasts which keep you to date on our ongoing special offers like lobster lunacy and gas party… 

And next week it is Thanksgiving.  The Shark will be cooking up our fabulous DEEP FRIED TURKEYS!!! By the time you read this we will probably have sold out of our Turkey Dinners to go, but you can make reservations to come in and enjoy a full platter with all of your favorite sides.  It is only $18 and who wants to cook and clean up.  Plus if you have any picky eaters they can enjoy anything from our regular menu as well.  But you probably want to call and make reservations, because as always our seating is somewhat limited.   (Small building, great view).

We have plenty of entertaining locals coming in and out over the next few weeks, including some with actual talent… (wink wink, that was a joke pointed at the people who come in and entertain without getting paid for it).  On Tuesdays we have Harry O and Joe Smooth blowing and strumming in the corner for your entertainment during Happy and a little after from 4 until 8.  This Friday, November 21^st we have Bob and Darren strumming and funning in Opposite Directions from 7 until 11.  Sundays we have the musical stylings of Phil “The Philthy K-nig-ht” Knight for our Happy Hour from 4 until 7.   “Tim: Follow. Bones of full fifty men lie strewn about its lair. So, brave knights, if you do doubt your courage or your strength, come no further, for death awaits you all with nasty, big, pointy teeth.”  …And a guitar and some wicked cool Radiohead remixes, original songs and God only knows what else under that little troubadour haircut.

This would be the point where I would usually make a bunch of inside jokes to everyone who has been in lately, but it has been a month.  So guess what, there have been too many of you, it has been too long, I went on vacation, I can’t remember everyone, if I tried and forgot someone then I would have to hear about that too… so after all my excuses I will simply say, Thanks Y’all… hope you all have a great Turkey day and beyond and hope to see you soon over in the Harbor….
